5 days until a pivotal TSMV decision

by | Apr 23, 2021 | TSMV

Do you remember the slogan Think Globally, Act Locally? It was coined back in the 1970s, right around the time of the first Earth Day. But, as we all know from the current TSMV proposals, the need to speak out and stand up for our local environment is just as relevant today. So tonight, as you reflect on the meaning of Earth Day, don’t forget to thank yourself for your “local act” of expressing your concerns about TSMV’s audacious proposal to double the size of our town.

How will Town Council respond to the proposals and all the community concern that was expressed during the Public Hearing? This Tuesday, April 27, at 9am we’ll find out. It’s going to be a pivotal moment in the process to determine the fate of the TSMV lands. If you can, tune in here.

We hoped to have an in-person rally this weekend to remind Town Council of the depth and breadth of community concerns, but the latest health restrictions preclude doing so. In a bit of an ironic twist, a few of us attended a different kind of celebration tonight on behalf of all of you: the Mayor’s (virtual) Volunteer Appreciation Night. Thanks to those of you who nominated us. Being appreciated is always nice, but what’s more important is that our message is recognized (and acted upon) by the Mayor and Council in the coming days.

Have a great night and remember to tune in next Tuesday at 9am!
