Tomorrow morning Town Council will make its final decision on TSMV’s Village Centre ASP. It brings to a close a long, emotional 5 months since TSMV first submitted their proposals.
During this time, we have seen an unprecedented level of engagement:
- BVE Info Session — we were hoping for 250 attendees and we had over 1,000
- Public Hearing — we were hoping for 2-3 days, the Town cut if off at 6
- Signatures for Open Letter — we were hoping for 250, we had over 1,700
- Footprint of Concern — Canmore’s largest ever public art display .
As we await Council’s final decision tomorrow morning, we want to thank you. Thank you for engaging, thank you for dedicating your time, and thank you for making a difference.
We have made a difference. The Smith Creek ASP was rejected. Significant amendments were made to the Village Centre ASP.
Our final message to Council is simple: Reject the Village Centre ASP because we can do better. As has been displayed numerous times during this process, our community has the experience, knowledge, and dedication to shape this development in a better way. Please give us the opportunity.
You can watch the 3rd (and final) Reading tomorrow morning at 9am.
Have a great night!
