TSMV First Reading Date

by | Jan 8, 2021 | TSMV

Greetings from Bow Valley Engage, a citizen platform for issues affecting the future of our special valley.

Thanks to those who signed up for our mailing list. With the TSMV proposal to double the size of our town before Town Council, being on the mailing list means you will be notified about crucial dates and receive suggestions for how to best make your voice heard. So get your friends to sign up as well!

The review of the TSMV proposals by our Council will involve several steps. In a nutshell, they are:

First Reading by Council (Feb 9, 2021)

Public Hearing (TBD)

Second Reading by Council (TBD)

Third Reading by Council (TBD)

In other words, there is a bit of time (but not a lot) to get your letters to Council if the impacts to wildlife, climate, safety and liability, affordability, and quality of life concern you. Attending the virtual public hearing (date yet to be determined) will also be important – we’ll keep you updated!.

If you’re sitting on the fence about whether to engage, it’s important to remember this is not a done deal; the previous proposal for these same lands (which included 25% fewer units) was rejected by Town Council at first reading in 2017 due to widespread community concern. But concern has to be expressed for Town Council to know it exists.

In the meantime, we will continue to add more background information to bowvalleyengage.com so check back frequently. And, if you want to dive deep, you can review the proposed TSMV development plans and supporting documents.

Have a great day and please help us spread the word!
